Aged Lady Passed Away 
Mrs W.F. Shackelford Died at Son's Home Last Week.-Had Been Ills For Years Mrs W.F. Shackelford, mother of W.S. Shackelford, died a thte home of her son in this city last week Monday after a long illness. Two sons reside in this city, W.S. and R.H., one son in California and a daughter in Missouri. The remains, accompanied by the sons, were taken to Osceola, Missouri, her former home last Wednesday for burial. Mr. Shackelford died several years ago.

Mrs W.F. Shackelford Dead. 
Mrs. W.F. Shackelfrod passed away Monday, Aug. 23, at the residence of her son, W.S. Shackelford, in Algona. Deceased was past sixty years of age, and had been a great sufferer for some years from cancer of the stomach. Her husband died about six years ago, and she is survived by four children, three sons and one daughter. W.S. and R.H. are residents of Algona, one son in California and the daughter in Missouri. The remains were taken to Osceola, Mo., the old home, Wednesday for burial.

Old time friends and acquaintances of Mrs. Nancy J. Shackelford were greatly surprised last Thursday when her remains arrivedin Osceola that afternoon from Iowa where she had been making her home with a son for some time. The funeral occurred the following day, being preached by Dr. Lawler at the Baptist church, after which the body was laid away at the Osceola cemetery beside those of her husband, the late Rev W.F. Shackelford, who preceded her a number of years. It was known she was in poor helath, but her demise was totally unexpected at this time by her friends in St. Clair county. She leaves a number of children, among them being Mrs. Howerton of near Monegaw Springs, this county, W.S. and R.H. Shackelford of Iowa, and R.V. Shackelford of California.

The body of Mrs. W.F. Shackelford who died at the home of her son in Iowa last week, arrived in Osceola Thursday and Friday was laid to rest deside her husband in the Osceola cemetery. Mrs. Shackelford was a native of Roscoe and was married in 1872. She was about 60 years of age and leaves several children to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted mother.
